Apple has issued a statement on an embarrassing glitch where the word ‘racist’ is being transcribed as ‘Trump’.
During the final presidential debate between President Donald Trump and former president Joe Biden back in 2020, Trump claimed that he was ‘the least racist person in the room’.
However, an Apple glitch has been claiming otherwise after some iPhone users noticed a strange bug on their device.

When using the voice-to-text feature, if a user said the word ‘racist’, they noticed that their phone was writing ‘Trump’ before quickly changing it to the correct word.
Apple has said it is working on repairing the glitch as outrage has grown from right-wing commentators.
Conspiracy theorist and host of Infowars, Alex Jones, took to X, formerly Twitter to spread fear about the device malfunction.

He wrote: “EXTREME BREAKING NEWS! I just caught Apple carrying out a vicious, subliminal attack on president Trump.
“When you voice note the word racist on APPLE text the word Trump pops up and then disappears.
“Try it yourself folks, this attack is NEXT LEVEL EVIL. We are surrounded by deep state deception, only the truth will bring us victory.”
In a statement, Apple said: “We are aware of an issue with the speech recognition model that powers Dictation and we are rolling out a fix today.”

The tech firm told Fox News that the error in its speech recognition model means that it will temporarily display words with some phonetic overlap, before changing to the correct word.
According to Apple, the bug tends to affect other words with an ‘r’ consonant when dictated to the iPhone.
While the company has received criticism over the glitch, it isn’t the first tech giant to face accusations of political bias in recent weeks.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta was accused by its users of boosting the Facebook content of President Trump after his inauguration in January.
Meta’s other social media site, Instagram, was also accused of blocking results when searching ‘#democrat’.
Amazon was also the subject of complaints after its virtual assistant, Alexa, was found to be giving different answers when it was prompted to give reasons to vote for Trump or former Vice President Kamala Harris.
When asked what the reasons are to vote for Trump, Alexa reportedly said that it does not ‘provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate’.

However, when it was asked about Harris, Alexa provided a list of reasons to back the candidate.
