What a week it’s been for Apple.

Earlier this week the tech giant revealed some major announcements during its highly anticipated ‘Glowtime’ event, and the excitement is yet to die down.

New Airpods Max and Airpods 4 were introduced, alongside series 10 of the Apple Watch.

The new watch faces are 42mm and 46mm, and are 40 per cent brighter than their predecessors, which makes it much more accessible for users.

The Apple Watch series 10 also comes fitted with a capability to detect sleep apnoea, a condition that causes people to suddenly stop breathing whilst they’re sleeping.

However, despite these impressive updates across Apple’s many gadgets, it was the iPhone 16 that everyone was waiting for.

Announced alongside the iPhone 16 Plus, Pro and Pro Max, the new device has been met with mixed reaction online.

Whilst some people loved it, others were left disappointed by the lack of difference from the current iPhones.

That’s not to say there’s nothing new. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are getting the A18 chip, which is a leap of two generations according to Apple. This will help it to run Apple Intelligence features when they become available.

There’s also the customizable action button, as well as smaller details that fans say they've been waiting '17 years' for.

However, it’s when you take a closer look that you can see all the new device truly has to offer - And there’s 4 hidden game changers.

Wi-Fi Speed

Not to be dramatic, but there’s nothing worse than slow Wi-Fi.

Luckily enough, there’s a new standard of Wi-Fi, known as Wi-Fi 7, which is five times faster than the current generation of wireless internet.

Essentially, Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices are able to transmit much more data in less time.

Not many devices have taken on Wi-Fi 7 yet. However, all four of the new iPhone 16 devices will be equipped to handle Wi-Fi 7.

Pause Button

Now this is something iPhone users have been after for a while.

Whilst Android users have had this feature for years.

This will allow users to record several shots in a single video, instead of stopping and starting a new video every time they were to record.

Following news of its addition, it’s safe to say that people are excited.

‘I couldn’t believe my eyes, first time I saw it. This was my biggest annoyance with iPhone camera of all time,’ one person wrote on Reddit.

Tougher Display

No more walking around with a cracked iPhone screen for a year, as Apple has upgraded their display again.

It will come with a new version of the Ceramic Shield, which is a combination of glass and ceramic material. According to Apple, this is 50 per cent 'tougher' than the first-generation ceramic shield.

Not only that, but it's reportedly two times tougher than 'glass found in any other smartphone'.

Although, you might still want to splash out on a phone case and screen protector.

Wireless charging speed

One of those people who always leaves charging their phone to the last minute? Well, you’re in luck - And with wireless charging, it doesn’t get much easier.

Apple has boosted the speed of MagSafe wireless chargers so iPhone 16 models can charge at up to 25W - 10W faster than standard Qi2 wireless charging standard.

However, you’ll have to buy the newly released one to benefit from these perks.
